EPISODE 2: How to Visualize Your Goals – The RIGHT Way

EPISODE 2: How to Visualize Your Goals - The RIGHT Way
Do you struggle to visualize your goals? I'm sure you've heard that creative visualization is a great tool to manifest what you want BUT you can't seem to sit still and visualize for a minute, let alone 15. In this episode, we will discuss the RIGHT way to visualize so you can experience ALL THE FEELS when it comes to your desires. I'll also take you on a journey with me through a guided visualization & storyline so you can see it in action!

[00:00:00.990] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
Hello, hello, hello. Thank you so much for joining me today. So today we’re going to talk about how to visualize. This is, I never would have thought this would be a topic that I would actually talk about.

[00:00:15.390] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
But it comes so naturally to me that I never thought this was an actual need in the world. And then I started talking to others, even people in the law of attraction manifestation circles who had really no clue on what visualization really entailed.

[00:00:33.990] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
So I figured this is a great way to kind of get into what I do, how I do it, and kind of give you a behind the scenes of my five-step process on how to visualize. All right. So first, visualization is not meditation. Meditation is when you clear your mind and you really concentrate on your breathing and you really let go of all thoughts. And it allows you to be calm and cool and collected and listen to your guidance. Visualization, I guess, is a form of meditation, but it’s not meditation.

[00:01:14.070] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
So a lot of people say, I just can’t do it. I can’t focus. I can’t. And generally, it’s because you’re thinking to yourself, I want to be here. I’m here right now. So how do I get there? And you’re kind of just seeing an image of what that looks like. Visualization is not just seeing a picture. It’s about playing a movie.

[00:01:41.370] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
And I think when I say this to people, I could see it in their faces, first of all, that they get it at that moment or they’re like, oh, this whole time, I just see a picture and it’s just hard for me to really, you know, get into that feeling place. It’s hard for me to even just think about it for a long time. And I’m like, yeah, because you’re not doing visualization the real way. You’re doing it the way that most people who don’t visualize tell you to do it. So in all the circle that I’m in, literally, it’s like, oh, you just have to see it in your mind. You just have to create the picture in your mind.

[00:02:16.770] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
No, that’s not what visualization is. Sure, that’s a form of visual imagery. But that’s not what visualizations that are going to actually bring your visions into reality are. OK. So let’s start from the beginning. OK. So when you, when you’re an athlete or a ballerina or in some kind of sport where you do something on the regular, it’s so easy to visualize.

[00:02:44.760] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
Why? Because you’re stepping into something you’ve already done. You’ve done it many times. So when it’s like, OK, see yourself doing it, you can see yourself making all the moves, doing the actions. Let’s say you’re a professional basketball player. I know nothing about basketball, so don’t judge me there.

[00:03:03.620] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
But it, like, you can see yourself, you know, dribbling the ball and dunking it. And why? Because these are things that you do in real life already. So even if you’re not the greatest basketball player in the world, you know the feeling of it.

[00:03:17.550] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
You know the movements.

[00:03:20.250] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
This is where it’s kind of different when you’re visualizing, let’s say, business goals that you’ve never achieved or any goal, any goal that you have in your mind. If you’ve never actually lived it in real life, it’s hard to experience it in your mind. Right, because it’s uncharted territory. You’ve never been there before. So this is my number one solution on how to actually see it, and it’s to create a story. OK, so let’s put it this way.

[00:03:51.420] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
You watch movies. I’m sure. We all do, we have a favorite movie. Let’s say, I gave you a storyline of a man wakes up. We’ll go horror. My children like horror movies. So a man wakes up. He finds his wife next to him dead. The police show up and scene. How did that make you feel? I mean, I’m sure you can put some pictures in your mind, but it was nothing really, right?

[00:04:21.170] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
There was no additives to it. There was no descriptions, no details. It was just a basic – here, this is what happens. He wakes up. He sees his wife dead. The police come. Boom. Done. It’s not even enticing for me. And I’m the one talking. So here’s the thing. That is what most of your visualizations are like right now. It’s the basic pictures.

[00:04:48.500] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
Now we talk about a storyline. It’s when you go deep and you actually fill in all the blanks.

[00:04:55.580] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
So here is my five-step process on how to do this. So first, it goes in the line of STORY. It’s an acronym. So S is for Spot. Find a place where you feel good, you can be uninterrupted. I know times are hard right now. You have your kids. You have your family members. It’s hard to find a spot. I love my bathtub when I close the door to my bathroom. It’s like, don’t come in here. Don’t bother, Mom. I’m doing my thing. I’m visualizing. I’m taking a bath. Leave me.

[00:05:27.920] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
So whatever place makes you feel good and that you can spend some time visualizing, find that spot. Make it comfortable. Honestly, add some candles. I have some crystals around. Scents, any kind of scents that make you feel good. I mean, if you want to take it a step further, I will take you through my dinner party storyline, which I’ll do at the end of this.

[00:05:49.820] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
You can grab that for free on my website, Visualization Freak. But it kind of. So if you’re doing those kind of visualizations where you’re creating this kind of storyline, you can add scents to entice the storyline. So in the one that I will show you in a bit, I actually, I order Italian food. So if you really want to take it to the next level, I mean, you can literally just pour some pasta sauce in the dish and smell it and kind of get in that feeling.

[00:06:19.310] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
I mean, you can take this as far as you want to go. Honestly. Okay.

[00:06:23.000] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
So once you have your spot and you feel good, you have your scents, you have the stuff going on, then we’re gonna think of a target. T is for target. Okay, so target is your goal. Now, goals are supposed to be measurable. Yes. Goals are supposed to be analytical. Yes. When you’re thinking of a goal for a visualization, though, you have to be able to have all the fields around it. So if it’s a goal that doesn’t really get you juiced up, this is the time to kind of change that.

[00:06:59.240] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
Okay. So I’m going to give you example for, let’s say, weight loss. Weight loss. OK. I weigh a hundred and forty-five pounds. Right. That doesn’t get me anything. That doesn’t do anything for me. That’s just a number on a scale. It’s the behind feelings that you’d want. So I want to feel good naked. I want to feel good in my body. I want to go to these meetings with clients and wear these outfits that I have pinned to this Pinterest board that I have here and look amazing.

[00:07:28.800] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
So do you see the difference just in that feeling right there? It’s, I weigh a hundred and forty-five pounds or I look freaking good naked. Two different feeling places and we’re gonna go with that second feeling place.

[00:07:42.480] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
So let’s say for business, because I know a lot of business people listen to me and I help businesses more than anything else. If you’re looking at numbers for your business, I want to make ten thousand dollars a month. Womp, womp, womp.

[00:07:58.030] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
Like, seriously, it doesn’t do anything for you. I want to make a difference in my clients’ lives. I want to be able to hear them say to me, “Holy crap, I was on your site today. I downloaded your freebie and it was the best thing that has happened to me in so long. You know how many aha moments I had just by reading your free stuff. I am so excited to join your program. I’m so excited to hire you as a coach.

[00:08:27.070] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
I’m so, whatever it is there. That’s the feeling that juices you off.

[00:08:32.860] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
Do you see the difference now?

[00:08:34.570] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
Ten thousand dollars a month or clients that are raving freaking fans because they love you, because you’re helping them. Which one feels better? OK, so when we talk about goals, I want you to see it that way. You can have your analytical goals. That is fine. I mean, that’s good on paper. That’s good for when you’re talking to your team, to your coaches, whatever. But when it comes to visualizing, we need to throw the analytics out the window.

[00:09:01.830] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
This is all about the imaginary. This is about the world of what if. What if this happened? How would I feel? All right. All right. So now that you have your new target, it’s not analytical. It feels good. You’re good to go. We’re gonna observe. OK, so this is really a cool part.

[00:09:24.300] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
This is when, OK, so this is when I take it a step further. So now visualization is visualization. Yes, we all know that.

[00:09:32.040] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
But visualization is also a form of scripting. And when you script a goal, it’s when you write it out as if it’s already happened. Right. If you’re new to this, I’m sorry, I kind of just threw that in there. But when you script goals, you do it in the present tense. I am doing this. I have this already, you know. So it’s not something that you’re wishing for or wanting later.

[00:09:58.960] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
It’s happening in this moment or it has already happened. This is the most important part of scripting, a visualization of everything. So when you’re seeing this goal, I don’t want you to look into the future. I want you to be in the moment, the moment it happens. Ten minutes after it happened. Two weeks after it happened. That’s all cool. Two years, whatever works.

[00:10:23.560] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
But be in that moment of this already happened and see it from that perspective. Either it already happened or you’re in the actual moment when you were realizing it’s happening now. OK. So I want you to observe around you. And this is where I say, a script, because usually I create the storyline on paper before I see it in my mind. This is just a tip, a trick that I use. You can skip over this.

[00:10:57.460] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
But I do find that it helps to kind of lay out the storyline. When you observe around you, you observe who you’re with, what you’re wearing, how you look. How’s your hairstyle? Did you do your makeup? What does it look like? You start to see all these things like where are you right now? Are you in a restaurant? Are you at a friend’s house? Are you at home? What room are you in in your home?

[00:11:24.250] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
Are you in your living room? And then you start to – it just makes it easier to finalize that storyline because you’re coming from a place, I’m in this moment now. I’m seeing around me. I can kind of step in to it, step into it, look around and see what’s there so that you can actually script a storyline. OK.

[00:11:49.030] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
So now is where the fun part comes. After you’ve observed you have your goal, you have a spot that you feel really comfortable in, you are going to, R is for relish. I want you to step into that moment and I’m gonna show you an example in a little bit of my dinner party storyline. And I just want you to step into that moment of realizing your goal has happened. And it’s, I know for a lot of people, this is the difficult part. So I’m gonna try my best to make it easy for you. Again, I want you to understand, like, I’m going to read you a script, so I’m gonna take you through an actual visualization.

[00:12:36.850] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
It’s on my website as well. If you want to read it and save it, I’m cool with that. It will help you to really get in the feeling place. OK. So when you relish in this visualization, I want you to create the movie. And when you create a movie, it’s not just a picture. OK, so we’re gonna go back to that example of a business, okay. So your goal is to have raving fans, to have a fan base of raving clients who absolutely adore you, whose lives you have changed for the better.

[00:13:18.260] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
And they just can’t help but reach out to you. OK, so I’m gonna kind of put myself in that spot right now. And the storyline that I would pick is, and this is gonna be for me. So I’m sorry if it doesn’t resonate with you as much, but I can’t step into your brain as I do mine. But OK. So my storyline would be, I am giving a presentation at an event. OK. I’ve been hired to present at this event and there are hundreds of people out there and I see them all.

[00:13:58.500] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
I, crystal clear, I can see them. I can feel their energy. I step out onto the stage and I start talking. And at the end, we do a meet-and-greet and so many people come up to me and say, wow, Rachel, like the information that you share with me today, I can literally apply it today and it will change my life. And I see this. I can hear them telling me this. And I hug each and every one of them.

[00:14:30.530] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
And I say, thank you so much for being here with me. You know, thank you. I appreciate everything. You know, you are my life. You are a part of my life. And I appreciate you so much. And just the feeling place I can get from them. This isn’t even deep. This is really like surface level. I mean, you can go as far as you want. And if you go on my site, I have story starters.

[00:14:51.380] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
I have just a few right now. I will be adding more because this is like really a brand new concept for a lot of people. But the story starters are meant to open your eyes and open your minds to what you can actually see. So once you relish and relish means like, dive deep, if it and this will get to the next part here, Y is for yucky? So if at any moment something feels off, we’re here just like, alright. This feels like kind of crappy.

[00:15:23.640] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
I don’t really want to do this anymore. It just doesn’t feel good. And when you revisit that story, because it’s usually something there that just is not jiving right with you. So it might be you’re off. You didn’t really want to do this at a restaurant. You wanted to do this at your home. The wrong people are there. Or you see, you know, you and your mom have a really rocky relationship. And for whatever reason, she’s popped into your visualization now.

[00:15:48.360] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
So you’re like, oh, yeah, I gotta go.

[00:15:50.700] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
So I want you to look at all those details again and find the pieces that don’t feel good and change them. If it’s the whole thing, scrap it. Don’t be, I mean, this is not going to be an overnight process for you, especially if you’re not good at it yet. It takes practice, you know, just like an athlete. They’re not great at what they do right off the bat. This is something that’s gonna take practice.

[00:16:15.570] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
So my number one tip to you. If it doesn’t feel good, look at the details first. Find the piece that just is not vibing with everything else. Change it. I mean, this is your chance to do whatever you want. This is your life. This is your visualization. So if it doesn’t feel good, you can change it at any moment. This is the perfect time to say, like, OK, what is this feeling right about?

[00:16:42.240] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
What’s just not feeling right? And switch it, OK? Once you find the storyline that feels amazing, step back into it. I mean, literally, I can spend 15 minutes on a visualization. And if you’re not smiling a lot of the time, if you’re not, I get goose bumps sometimes, and that’s how I know, like, I’m activated, I’ll call it. But it’s like I feel it.

[00:17:08.390] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
And then when I see it in real life, and, I’ll talk about this probably on future episodes, but like, there has been so many times where I have literally lived the visualization in my mind. And then weeks, months, a year later, it has come to pass exactly as I saw it.

[00:17:31.370] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
And at first, it’s really, really, really freaky. It’s like, whoa, what just happened, you know?

[00:17:38.390] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
And, like I tell my husband about, I’m like, oh, my gosh, you’re never gonna believe it, and he always believes because he’s like, OK, you told me about this. And like, yeah. All right. But to see it in real life happened, it’s insane, you know?

[00:17:49.820] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
So I’m gonna take you right now through my dinner party story starter. OK, so this is a great starter. First, someone who may not be totally buying visualization or is really a newbie to this, this is you know, you have a hard time going through your storylines and you’re just like, I’m kind of stuck. So this is a celebration story starter, okay? The dinner party is perfect for so many goals out there.

[00:18:27.610] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
I mean, it is literally a celebration of anything. So if you want to become pregnant, you can see this as your baby shower. If you’re looking for your soul mate, you can see this either as your bridal shower or you can see this as your 10-year anniversary party.

[00:18:47.740] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
If you want to be in a thriving business, you can see this as a team celebration that you’ve hired on your team and you’re having a celebratory dinner, celebratory brunch. Promotion at work. If you’re looking to up level your career, this can be the party that you invite all your friends to celebrate you. OK. So I just want you to be open this way. So one of my goals for 2021 is to get a new house.

[00:19:14.920] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
This has been something we’ve been working towards for a while. I am extremely picky at what I’m looking for. So it’s taking me a little bit longer. But I, 2021, we gave ourselves like, listen, 2021, we’re getting a new house. That’s what we’re doing. And so now. So I wrote this story starter out as my visualization to kind of help you see how I do it. All right. So first, we’re gonna set the scene.

[00:19:43.990] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
So this is O for Observe. So think about where you are. You know, is this dinner party at a restaurant? Is it catered at an event hall or is an intimate affair at your home? This can be, this can take place anywhere. It could be outside. It could be inside. Whatever feels good for you. Next, I want you to decide who’s there with you. Is this a family dinner party? Is this your closest friends?

[00:20:08.890] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
Is it your co-workers, your business partners, whoever?

[00:20:12.340] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
Start seeing and, seeing the people that you’ve invited to this event. Next, we’re gonna think about what are you wearing? This is something I have a Pinterest board that houses all home at different looks, because when I’m getting into visualizations, I like to dress myself mentally first so I can kind of yeah. Okay. I’m wearing the, you know, the blue pumps and the high blue pants with a tucked in white shirt or whatever it is like.

[00:20:46.690] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
So I like to see what I’m wearing. This is just an extra, like, pro tip for you.

[00:20:51.370] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
But see how your hair is done. See. And this is an opportunity to see yourself looking amazing. So you don’t want to see yourself looking exhausted and, you know, craving energy and like, oh my God, I’m really doing this now. No. See yourself feeling amazing, looking amazing. OK.

[00:21:09.230] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
And then fill in any other details that you want from there.

[00:21:12.230] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
All right. So, again, this is my house warming dinner party visualization as I see it. Feel free to visualize it differently, to see it in your own way. And this is just a storyline. So I will take you through it and then we’ll go from there. All right. So I look up at the time and at six o’clock, our guests should be arriving any moment now. I am so excited to show them our new home.

[00:21:40.890] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
I look around and everything is perfect. Our new house feels warm and cozy. I look around and smile because we furnish it exactly the way I always imagined. I look over at the large dining table that is set in preparation for our guests. I’ve ordered catering from our favorite Italian restaurant and I could smell the aroma of our favorite meals, chicken and eggplant parmesan. I head over to a mirror to do a quick glance over. I’m wearing my favorite black dress and it fits my curves amazingly.

[00:22:15.420] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
My hair is long and shiny. My makeup is lightly applied and looks very natural. I smile back at my reflection in the mirror and feel the anticipation for the night ahead. I hear the doorbell ring and I rush over to the door to greet my guests. I open the large wooden door and I’m welcomed with their smiling faces. I hear myself saying, come on in. Welcome to our new home. You can place your bags on the hooks right there.

[00:22:45.190] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
I give everyone a quick hug, and once they are all settled, I offer them a tour of our new place. My best friend says, wow, this place is amazing. I love the furniture you picked out and I thank her. I am filled with such gratitude because owning this type of home has been a dream for us. Once the tour is complete, we head back to the dining room and everyone takes a seat. The food is served family style, where everyone fills their plate and passes it on to the next person.

[00:23:19.100] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
I open up a few bottles of wine and you could hear the laughter, talking and glasses clinking around me. It’s such an amazing feeling having my friends and family over to celebrate this huge milestone. And I could feel the gratitude rise inside me. I stand up, tap my wine glass with a spoon and tell everyone how much I appreciate them in my life and how grateful I am that they supported my husband and I in this home buying journey. I finished my speech by saying I look forward to making so many memories in this home.

[00:23:55.750] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
I sit down and everyone is smiling. We continue talking and having a great time together. Once dinner is finished, my husband and I clear off the table and bring out a few trays of pastries, cookies and coffee. The laughter and conversation continues for hours and time seems to fly by. Our guests are ready to leave and I give each of them a hug and let them know that I appreciate them taking the time to come out and have dinner with us.

[00:24:25.570] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
I escort the last guest to the door and close it softly behind them. I look over at my husband with a huge smile on my face because this is precisely how I wanted our first dinner party in our new home to go. For me. And that’s the end of the story. But for me, this feels so good. This is my vision. This is my visualization. This is what I see when I think of hosting my own first dinner party in my new house.

[00:24:58.510] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
And this is what I want for you. This is something that you can do too. And I always, I always, always, always say this and you’ll hear this at the end of the podcast. But if you can see it, you’ll believe it. And once you believe it, that is where the magic happens.

[00:25:19.710] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
So if you want, go ahead and head over to my site, visualizationfreak.com. I have some story starters there for you already. I also have a free guided visualization. This is free, as in, no credit card, no email address. I don’t even need, you know, your firstborn child. That is a joke. But it’s free. I give it away. You can go there and just download it. If you go to visualizationfreak.com, this is a guided visualization like you have never experienced before.

[00:25:52.880] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
OK, I’m going to tell you a little bit about this one that you’re gonna experience. So, okay.

[00:25:59.220] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
So I made this one a long time ago. This is, this one has been near and dear to my heart. I’ve listened to this one often. This is about money. So this kind of visualization is you going to the bank and cashing the biggest check you’ve ever received. It takes you, I mean, this is a journey to cash this check. You’ll hear interactions with other people. The bank manager will talk to you.

[00:26:28.500] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
I mean, it’s, it’s such a great. I mean, one of my favorites. I give it away for free because I want you to feel the power of what I do, how I do things. I’m all about feedback. So if you listen to it, just shoot me an email [email protected] and let me know, what you thought of it, if you, if it helped you in any way, if you see any kind of miracles because of it.

[00:26:57.270] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
Honestly, if you can dedicate, it’s I think four minutes long, maybe five minutes max, but if you can dedicate five minutes a day for a few weeks to listen to this, I can almost guarantee you that it will raise your vibration around money and you will see miracles start to happen in your life. So go ahead and grab that visualizationfreak.com, and really let me know what you think about it. All right. Well, I am signing out on this. Again, head over to my site.

[00:27:27.720] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
You can look up the story starters there. You can grab a free guided visualization. And I do truly look forward to hearing your feedback.

[00:27:35.340] – Rachel W. (The Visualization Freak)
All right. Thanks, guys. Have a good day.
